Planning
Planning is an action to plan where this is not a product. In order to have a good schedule you should have a check list of relationships of all tasks. Most important will be the attributes of all individual elements which will lead to the work to be complete. Learning to plan is means to learn to think the future. Schedule should be the first list in the task of a package in a project.

Timeline
Many project managers think that they can motivate people by using unrealistic short schedules. Which try to make something happen quickly and successful and let team player feel like motivated like nothing else but sometime it not work as this way; when the team player is behind the schedule they will become depressed and unmotivated. So in-order to have a good schedule you need to have reasonable durations, which can make your team to be always working ahead of schedule, this will cheer them up on how productive there are.

Peoples
More people sometime didn’t mean can accomplish things faster. It needs to see many check list relationships (predecessor, dependency, successor). For example it will take one woman 9 months to deliver a baby. It doesn’t mean that you put 9 women on this task so you can have a baby by one month. Sometimes throwing more people into a project will just waste of resources.

Why do we need schedule?
This is sometimes a very stupid question, because “Not every thing can be in schedule” same goes to “Not every girl you meet can be your wife.” But schedule able to minimum risk to be take and also put things under control. Although you know it will be hard to be on time but it is the first guideline to make sometime happen. Without this, something would be never happen.

How to determine a good schedule?

1) The statement of work should be able to traceable.
2) The resource requirement should be visible
3) Performance of the resources must be measurable
4) Cost forecast is assessable
5) Risk had been identify
6) Cost and schedule connected at the deliverable level

Schedule Planning Relationship

1) Start – to – Start
This will have no relationship, due to successor will able to start simultaneous.

2) Finish – to – Finish
No relationship, successor can complete simultaneously with the predecessor.

3) Start – to – Finish
Try to avoid this kind of relationship.

4) Without Predecessor
The start of project.

5) Without Successor
The end of project.

6) Lead and lag
Lead is overlap between tasks that have dependency, lag time is a delay task that have dependency. In good schedule planning this should be minimize.

7) Slack
Planning for a task that can be delayed but it wont delay subsequent task and also project completion date.
